Sweat (ankle) is back in Sunday's game against the Commanders, Zach Berman of The Athletic reports. Sweat went down with an ankle injury and was forced out of the game in the second quarter. The starting linebacker has now returned to the outing which bodes well for the severity of the injury.
Sweat suffered an ankle injury and is questionable to return Sunday against the Commanders, Dave Zangaro of NBC Sports Philadelphia reports. Sweat went down with an ankle injury in the second quarter for Philly's away game. The starting linebacker's absence should give more opportunities to Jalyx Hunt and Charles Harris as long as he's sidelined.
Sweat (hip) was listed as a full practice participant on Thursday's injury report. Sweat was limited by a hip issue during Wednesday's practice, but it doesn't appear to be severe as he was able to practice in full Thursday. Unless he suffers a setback, Sweat should be good to go against the Cowboys on Sunday. Through eight regular-season games, Sweat has logged 19 tackles (12 solo), including 5.0 sacks, and two pass breakups.
Sweat (hip) was a limited participant in Wednesday's practice. Sweat played 41 defensive snaps and recorded five total tackles, including 2.0 sacks, in Philadelphia's Week 9 win over the Jaguars; however, it appears he picked up a hip injury in the process. The veteran pass rusher will likely still play in the Eagles' Week 10 matchup against the Cowboys unless he downgrades to a DNP either Thursday or Friday.
Sweat recorded five tackles (three solo), including 2.0 sacks and two tackles for losses, and a pass defensed in Sunday's 28-23 win over the Jaguars. The linebacker also played on 80 percent of the defensive snaps, a season high. Sweat has 19 tackles (12 solo), including 5.0 sacks, on the year.
Sweat recorded five tackles (three solo), including 1.0 sacks, in Sunday's 20-16 win over the Browns. The defensive end now has 2.0 sacks in 2024 to go along with 13 total tackles. Sweat has played on more than half of Philadelphia's defensive snaps in all five games this season. The seventh-year pro has recorded at least 6.0 sacks in four straight campaigns.
Sweat notched a sack for his only tackle in Sunday's Week 4 loss to Tampa Bay. Sweat's sack of Baker Mayfield late in the third quarter resulted in a two-yard loss. It was Sweat's first sack of the campaign, though he's been on the field plenty, having logged over half of the Eagles' defensive snaps in each of the team's first four games. Sweat is looking to extend a four-year streak of recording at least 6.0 sacks.
The Eagles restructured Sweat's contract ahead of the 2024 season Friday, Cayden Steele of NJ.com reports. The 26-year-old defensive end's restructured contract allows him to make up to $13 million in 2024, with $10 million guaranteed, per Jeremy Fowler of ESPN.com. Sweat saw a dip in production last season compared to the previous two years, but he was still fairly impactful nonetheless. The Florida State product appeared in all 17 of the Eagles' regular-season outings, logging 43 total tackles, including 6.5 sacks. Sweat is expected to remain one of the most productive players on Philadelphia's defense in 2024.
