Signs through 2027

Johnson signed a one-year contract extension through 2027 on Monday. Johnson will now make an additional $8 million over the next two years and an additional $30 million in guarantees, per Adam Schefter of ESPN. Schefter also noted that the five-time All-Pro tackle will make $48 million, including $40 million guaranteed, over the next two years. The 2013 first-round pick was named an All-Pro for the fourth consecutive season in 2024 and has started all 158 games he's played in during his career.
Not planning on retirement

Johnson said Saturday that he's not planning to retire after Super Bowl LIX regardless of the outcome, EJ Smith of The Philadelphia Inquirer reports. "I'm definitely not retiring after this game, win or lose," Johnson stated. Johnson has been a staple on Philadelphia's offensive line since he started all 16 of the team's regular-season games as a rookie in 2013. He's dealt with some injuries in his career but has remained relatively healthy over the past three seasons, playing in 46 of a possible 51 regular-season contests and earning both a a Pro Bowl and All-Pro selection each year during that span. Johnson will be 35 at the start of next season but, as evidenced by his recent accolades, appears to have plenty still left in the tank.
Full practice participant Thursday

Johnson (knee/rest) was a full participant in Thursday's practice. Johnson was limited in Wednesday's walkthrough to get some additional rest for a lingering knee issue. Unless he suffers a setback, Johnson will start at right tackle against the Commanders in Sunday's NFC Championship Game.
Resting in Week 18

Johnson (coach's decision) is inactive for Sunday's matchup against the Giants. Johnson is one of many starters Philadelphia is sitting for rest purposes with the team having locked up the No. 2 playoff seed in the NFC. Joining Johnson as healthy inactives along the Eagles' offensive line Sunday are left tackle Jordan Mailata and left guard Landon Dickerson.
Ready to face Cleveland

Johnson (concussion) said Wednesday he's been fully cleared to suit up for Sunday's game against the Browns, Eliot Shorr-Parks of Sports Radio 94 WIP Philadelphia reports. Johnson, coming out of the bye week, said he's fully cleared the NFL's five-step concussion protocol. Getting the veteran Pro Bowler back at right tackle will signify a notable boost for Philadelphia's offensive line, especially against a formidable Cleveland pass rush headlined by Myles Garrett and Za'Darius Smith.
Won't play Sunday

Johnson (concussion) has been downgraded to out for Sunday's game against the Buccaneers. Johnson suffered a concussion last Sunday against the Saints and has not made enough progress in the league's five-step protocols to be cleared to suit up for Week 4. The absence of the multi-time Pro Bowl tackle will be a significant blow to Philadelphia's offensive line. Fred Johnson should draw the start at right tackle in Johnson's stead.
Won't return Sunday

Johnson has been ruled out for the rest of Sunday's game against the Saints due to a concussion. Johnson entered the league's concussion protocols in the second quarter, and he will not return for the second half of Sunday's contest. Fred Johnson will serve at right tackle for the rest of the game.
Enters concussion protocols

Johnson is being evaluated for a concussion and is questionable to return to Sunday's game against New Orleans. Johnson has gone back to the locker room after being checked out in the medical tent. He'll have to pass the league's concussion protocols in order to return Sunday. In the meantime, Fred Johnson has taken over at right tackle.
Back in pads Tuesday

Johnson (toe) participated in practice Tuesday, Brooks Kubena of The Athletic reports. Johnson missed Monday's practice after injuring his toe over the weekend. He appears to be over the injury, as he was seen in full pads in Tuesday's session.
