Dotson made a spectacular catch for a 36-yard gain early in the third quarter of Sunday's win over the Jaguars but was not targeted any other time. A.J. Brown left with a knee injury shortly before halftime, and Dotson received his one opportunity of the game shortly after the break, reaching over Tyson Campbell's back on a long pass down the left and tipping the ball up to himself to make the grab. Jalen Hurts didn't look Dotson's way again the rest of the game, however, and his workload may be limited again in Week 10 against the Cowboys if Brown's injury proves minor. Brown's tests came back clean after the game and he appears to have a real chance to return without missing any time, but that's not yet guaranteed.

Jahan Dotson Latest News
Catches one long pass
No catches in Week 8
Dotson was not targeted a single time in Sunday's 37-17 win over Cincinnati. The Eagles prioritized the run on Sunday, especially after opening up a second-half lead, with Jalen Hurts attempting just 20 passes. As usual, A.J. Brown and DeVonta Smith soaked up most of the targets, with other Eagles combining for just six, none of which went to Dotson. The third-year wideout has just six catches in seven games this season.
No catches in big win
Dotson finished with zero catches on one target in Sunday's 28-3 win over the Giants. The Eagles were in control for most of the game and had enough success on the ground (269 yards) that they barely needed to use the passing game, with Jalen Hurts throwing for just 114 yards on 14 attempts. The Eagles rested their starters in the fourth quarter, and while that meant more time on the field for Dotson, the team continued to rely on the ground game, with backup quarterback Kenny Pickett attempting just a single pass.
Retreats to third on depth chart
Dotson had just one catch for 10 yards on three targets in Sunday's 20-16 in over the Browns. He also rushed once for 13 yards. Dotson wasn't able to carve out a significant role in the Eagles' offense when injuries to A.J. Brown and DeVonta Smith elevated him to a starting spot earlier in the season, so it's no surprise to see his role remain small now that those two are healthy again. Dotson has a total of seven touches for 48 yards and no touches through five games this season.
Just two catches as No. 1 receiver
Dotson was targeted four times in the Eagles' Week 4 loss to the Bucs, finishing with two catches for 11 yards. Dotson was expected to see an expanded role as the team's top wideout in the absence of A.J. Brown (hamstring) and DeVonta Smith (concussion), and while he did indeed see a season-high number of targets, it's hard to say he made much of an impact. The Eagles have a bye in Week 5, buying Brown and Smith an extra week to recover and push Dotson back down the depth chart.
Serving as top wideout Sunday
Dotson is in line to serve as the Eagles' No. 1 receiver for Sunday's Week 4 matchup against the Buccaneers with both A.J. Brown (hamstring) and DeVonta Smith (concussion) ruled out for the contest. Dotson has shown very little over the last two games despite Brown's absence, and he's produced just a 3-14 line on five targets over his first three regular-season contests overall. However, the combination of Dotson's speed, the fact he's had another week to acclimate to the Eagles' playbook following his late-August arrival via trade with the Commanders, and the expansive void the absences of Brown and Smith create could represent the perfect storm of opportunity and circumstances for Dotson to thrive versus what's been an inconsistent and still short-handed Buccaneers secondary.
Starts again, just two catches
Dotson served a starting role in Week 3 against the Saints but had just two catches for eight yards on three targets. Dotson again filled a larger role with A.J. Brown (hamstring) unavailable, but Jalen Hurts wound up giving double-digit targets to both Dallas Goedert and DeVonta Smith and no more than four to anyone else. Smith suffered a concussion late in Monday's game, so if both he and Brown wind up missing Week 4 against the Bucs, it's possible Dotson could see an expanded target share.
Just one catch Monday
Dotson had one reception on as many targets in Monday's 22-21 loss to Atlanta. Dotson was expected to see an increased role with star wideout A.J. Brown (hamstring) missing Monday's contest due to injury. The opposite scenario unfolded in a contest where the Eagles ran for more yards than the offense passed for against Atlanta's defense. Brown's injury is already expected to cost the No. 1 receiver multiple weeks of action, opening the door for auxiliary options like Dotson to see increased roles (despite Monday's one-catch dud). Dotson should remain in play for deep-league managers against the Saints on Sunday.
Should see added work Monday
Dotson is expected to assume a larger role in the Eagles' passing attack Monday against the Falcons with A.J. Brown (hamstring) downgraded to out, Tim McManus of ESPN.com reports. Dotson logged 32 snaps behind Brown (72 snaps) and DeVonta Smith (76 snaps) in the Eagles' season-opening win over the Packers. According to the Eagles' official site, head coach Nick Sirianni expressed confidence in Dotson's ability to take on more meaningful snaps in Brown's absence, with Sirianni noting that he's been pleased with how the wideout has looked in practices since being acquired from the Commanders on Aug. 22. After Smith and Dotson, the Eagles are left with Johnny Wilson (questionable, hamstring) and Britain Covey as depth options at receiver.
