He once again took a back seat to DeVonta Smith, but Brown still made an impact, hauling in a three-yard TD strike from Jalen Hurts in the third quarter as the Eagles began their second-half comeback. Brown has gone three straight games without reaching 100 receiving yards after his record-setting run of six straight weeks with 130-plus yards, but he could rebound if a Week 13 meeting with the 49ers turns into another barn burner.
Brown upgraded to full participation Friday after being listed as limited the previous two days. He's coming off his first dud of the season -- one catch for eight yards in Monday's win over Kansas City -- but is already over 1,000 receiving yards for the campaign.
The Eagles are placing listed restrictions on Brown's activity level this week due to a thigh injury, and now Friday's practice report will reveal whether or not he heads into the weekend with a designation for Sunday's game versus the Bills. As one of four players in the NFL with at least 1,000 receiving yards this season, his status of course is of interest in the fantasy realm.
Through 11 weeks of the current campaign, Brown has avoided showing up on Eagles injury reports, but he now is dealing with a health concern as the team prepares for Sunday's showdown with the Bills. He may need to be listed as a full participant Thursday and/or Friday in order to avoid a designation for that contest.
Despite Brown's quiet night and the absence of starting tight end Dallas Goedert (forearm), Philadelphia improved to 9-1 thanks to three rushing touchdowns, as well as 99 receiving yards from DeVonta Smith, which tied Smith's second-highest total of the season. While Smith has exceeded 100 yards only once this season, Brown has done so six times, so the star wide receiver is likely to bounce back from this season-worst performance in Week 12 against the Bills.
Brown put together another signature performance that included just enough yardage to surpass Lions great Calvin Johnson for most consecutive games with 125-plus receiving yards (six). The big-bodied wideout recorded an acrobatic one-handed grab for his first touchdown from 16 yards out and later added a 25-yard grab for his second multi-score tally of the campaign. With a seemingly never-ending parade of prolific performances, Brown appears to be matchup-proof heading into a Week 9 showdown at home against the Cowboys.
