Taula signed with the Buccaneers' practice squad Thursday, Scott Smith of the team's official site reports. The 25-year-old tight end is now in line to spend his second consecutive season on the Buccaneers' practice squad after signing with the team Thursday. Taula has yet to appear in an NFL regular-season game, but he recorded 284 receiving yards and one touchdown during his final collegiate season in 2022.
The Buccaneers waived Taula on Monday, JC Allen of SI.com reports. The second-year tight end spent his entire rookie campaign on the Buccaneers' practice squad, and Tampa Bay is planning on bringing him back to the practice squad if he clears waivers, per Allen.
Taula (undisclosed) was activated from the Buccaneers' active/non-football injury list Sunday after passing his physical, Aaron Wilson of KPRC 2 Houston reports. Taula began training camp on the NFI list due to an unspecified injury. He appears to be over whatever was ailing him, and he'll ramp up his participation in practice this week to gear up for Friday's preseason finale against the Dolphins.
