Higgins (ankle/knee) has improved throughout the week, and there is optimism he'll be able to play Saturday against the Broncos, Jeremy Fowler of ESPN.com reports. Higgins has dealt with a multitude of nagging injuries this season, but it seems to be trending toward him not missing any time with this latest issue. He had his ankle tweaked underneath him last Sunday against the Browns, but he was able to return and got in a round of limited practices this week. Saturday's matchup with the Broncos is as close to a must-win game as possible for both teams, so there's a lot riding on Higgins' availability.
Rankins (illness) has been ruled out for Saturday's game against the Broncos, Paul Dehner Jr. of The Athletic reports. An illness has prevented Rankins from playing or practicing since Week 10 against the Ravens, and he will be sidelined Saturday for a sixth straight game. It's unclear whether he'll be able to progress enough in his recovery to play in the Bengals' regular-season finale against the Steelers on Sunday, Jan. 5.
Jones (groin) is questionable to play against the Broncos on Saturday after logging a limited practice Thursday. Jones has been sidelined for the Bengals' last seven games due to a groin injury he suffered in Week 8 against the Eagles. He was a limited practice participant all week and appears to be getting closer to making his return. Khalil Herbert and Isaiah Williams would continue to serve as the Bengals' kick and punt returners if Jones is unable to play.
Hudson (knee) is listed as doubtful for Saturday's game against the Broncos after logging a DNP on Thursday's injury report. Hudson has been held out of practice since suffering a knee injury during the Bengals' Week 15 win over the Titans. Cam Grandy and Tanner McLachlan would serve as Cincinnati's depth tight ends behind Mike Gesicki and Drew Sample if Hudson is inactive Saturday.
Burrow (wrist/knee) doesn't have a designation for Saturday's home game against the Broncos, Paul Dehner Jr. of The Athletic reports. Burrow was a limited participant in practice throughout the week due to a pair of injuries, but as expected, neither health concern will keep him from playing Saturday. If the Bengals' longshot bid for the postseason comes to an end in the aftermath of Week 17 action, Burrow could be a candidate to rest in Week 18, but fantasy managers can feel comfortable including the quarterback in their fantasy lineups, even in a matchup versus a tough Denver defense. Burrow has thrown for at least three touchdowns in seven straight games and is averaging 319.4 passing yards per contest during that stretch.
