Long was released by the Giants on Tuesday. Long registered five total tackles (four solo) with New York during the preseason, but he'll now look for an opportunity elsewhere. The cornerback played in 14 games with the Panthers, Packers and Raiders in 2023, and he'll likely find another suitor in the near future.
Long (undisclosed) did not play during Saturday's preseason game at Houston because of an injury he sustained before the game, Pat Leonard of the New York Daily News reports. At this point, there are no details available regarding the type of issue Long is dealing with or how serious it might be. Either way, if he remains unavailable, it could open up additional chances for Christian Holmes to make an impression.
