The Colts signed McKeon to their practice squad Thursday. McKeon failed to catch on with the Lions before signing with the Colts' practice squad Thursday. He appeared in nine regular-season games with the Cowboys last season, failing to haul in either of his two targets while playing 234 total snaps (94 offensive and 140 on special teams).
McKeon was released by Detroit on Tuesday. McKeon played in nine regular-season games for the Cowboys last year but ended the campaign on IR due to an ankle injury. He signed a contract with the Lions in May and caught both his targets for 19 yards during the exhibition slate, but he didn't make the cut for the 53-man roster. Sam LaPorta (hamstring), Brock Wright and Parker Hesse will serve as Detroit's tight ends to open the campaign.
