Womack was designated to return from IR on Nov. 6, which opened a 21-day window to be activated. Thus, he has been activated to avoid passing that time limit, but it remains to be seen if he is healthy enough to suit up Thursday.
The transaction starts the clock on a 21-day period during which the 49ers can officially activate Womack before they'd have to shut him down for the rest of the year. San Francisco's injury reports during the week will provide more information regarding his potential availability for Week 10.
