Olubi had five total tackles and forced a fumble in Sunday's win over Miami. Olubi played his first snaps of the season on defense and was thrust into a significant role with E.J. Speed out with a knee injury and Jaylon Carlies leaving the game with an ankle injury. Olubi played on 21 of the defense's 69 snaps and could see a larger role next week against Houston.
Olubi doesn't have a tackle this season and has played all his 57 tackles on special teams. Olubi is working as a reserve interior linebacker but the Colts rarely play more than two interior linebackers in their defensive scheme.
Olubi got the start with Zaire Franklin out with a knee injury. He played on all of the defense's 71 snaps, so he stayed on the field in all packages. He could get another start next week at New England if Franklin remains sidelined.
