Kirk (collarbone) may be released this offseason, according to ESPN's Dan Graziano. Kirk has one season remaining on a four-year, $72 million contract, scheduled for $16-16.5 million in non-guaranteed compensation. He's mostly lived up to a contract that was widely criticized as an overpay at the time of signing, but that doesn't necessarily mean the Jaguars will keep him, as he's now 28 years old and coming off a disappointing 2024 season in which he suffered a broken collarbone while rookie Brian Thomas emerged as the team's clear No. 1 receiver. Fellow veteran wideout Gabe Davis had a worse season than Kirk and suffered an injury that comes with more long-term concern (a meniscus tear), but Davis has full guarantees for his 2025 compensation, leaving the Jaguars with no financial incentive to release him.

Latest Jaguars News
Christian Kirk : Candidate to be released
Brian Thomas : Locked in as focal point
New Jaguars head coach Liam Coen said the team's passing game will run through Thomas, Cameron Wolfe of NFL Network reports. That much is clear; the real question is who else will catch passes from Trevor Lawrence on a regular basis. WR Christian Kirk (collarbone) and TE Evan Engram (shoulder) both are entering contract years without any guaranteed money remaining, and WR Gabe Davis (knee) is coming off a disappointing season that ended early with a meniscus tear. Thomas may be at the level where target competition doesn't really matter and teammates are competing with each other rather than him, considering he closed out 2024 with one of the most productive stretches ever seen from a rookie wide receiver (while catching passes from backup QB Mac Jones). After a Week 12 bye, Thomas had six straight games with at least 10 targets and 76 yards, averaging 7.5 receptions for 99.8 yards and 0.83 TDs on 11.7 targets. Similar output over the course of a full season is unlikely even for a player with Thomas' rare combination of size, speed and agility, but it isn't entirely out of the question under Coen, whose lone year as Tampa Bay's playcaller coincided with the top PPR scoring average of Chris Godwin's career (19.7 per game) as well as Mike Evans' best average (17.2) since 2019.
Louis Rees-Zammit : Getting second opportunity
Rees-Zammit re-signed with the Jaguars on Monday. Rees-Zammit came to the NFL in the spring of 2024 as part of their International Player Pathway Program after playing rugby in Wales. Originally viewed as a running back, and rushing six times for 22 yards during the 2024 preseason with the Chiefs, Rees-Zammit was waived. He caught on with Jacksonville soon after but remained on their practice squad throughout the season.
John Wolford : Staying in Jacksonville
Wolford signed a contract with the Jaguars on Monday. Wolford joined Jacksonville's practice squad in December of last year, after stints with the Buccaneers and Rams. The 29-year-old will now have the opportunity to earn a backup role behind Trevor Lawrence during the Jaguars' offseason programs.
Josiah Deguara : Three receptions in 2024
Deguara (shoulder) registered three catches on as many targets for 14 yards across 15 regular-season games in 2024. Deguara signed a one-year, $1.29 million contract with the Jaguars in March of 2024 after spending the first four years of his NFL career with the Packers. He failed to make the 53-man roster at the end of training camp, but after opting to stay on the practice squad he was eventually signed to Jacksonville's active roster in late September. Deguara was mostly used on special teams, though he did see a slight uptick in offensive snaps when Evan Engram (shoulder) was sidelined due to injury. Deguara will explore his options during the offseason as an unrestricted free agent.
Foyesade Oluokun : Double-digit tackles in finale
Oluokun tallied 10 tackles (three solo) during Jacksonville's Week 18 loss to Indianapolis. Oluokun posted double-digit tackles in the final two games of the season as he finished the campaign with 108 total stops, which ends a three-year run with at least 170 tackles. Part of the 27-year-old's production drop was due to a foot injury that sidelined him for four contests, but his 8.3 tackles per game was still his lowest figure since 2020. Oluokun inked a three-year, $30 million extension with the Jaguars last March and could be back amongst the leading tacklers in the league in 2025.
Devin Lloyd : Tallies second sack
Lloyd recorded six tackles (four solo) with 1.0 sacks during Jacksonville's Week 18 loss to Indianapolis. The 26-year-old tied for fifth on the team in tackles in the season finale and recorded his second sack of the season. Lloyd totaled 113 tackles (61 solo) with 2.0 sacks, one interception and one forced fumble in 16 games this season. The 2022 first-round pick is entering the final guaranteed year of his contract in 2025, and Jacksonville will need to decide during the offseason whether to exercise his fifth-year option for 2026.
Luke Farrell : One catch Week 18
Farrell caught his lone target for four yards Week 18 against the Colts and finished the season with 12 receptions for 67 yards in 17 games. Farrell once again was minimally involved in the passing game while playing 31 offensive snaps in the season finale. The 27-year-old will become an unrestricted free agent at the start of the offseason, with his four-year run in Jacksonville likely to conclude with him totaling 36 catches for 316 yards and no touchdowns in 66 games.
