Tomlinson underwent arthroscopic surgery on his right knee Friday, Chris Easterling of the Akron Beacon Journal reports. Cleveland head Kevin Stefanski indicated the surgery was successful but did not offer a timeline for Tomlinson's return. The team is hoping he'll be ready to go for the season opener, Sept. 8, against the Cowboys. Tomlinson's main contribution in 2023 was to occupy bodies and set up sacks for edge rushers.
Tomlinson will have a scope on his injured knee, Scott Petrak of the Elyria Chronicle-Telegram reports. While Tomlinson will be sidelined for the time being, head coach Kevin Stefanski expects him to be ready for the start of the regular season. Once healthy, the 2017 second-round pick should start at defensive tackle alongside Shelby Harris.
