Whiteheart is slated to re-sign with the Browns on Monday, Aaron Wilson of KPRC 2 Houston reports. Whiteheart wasn't tendered by Cleveland by the early March deadline, but he's now re-upped with the team. While suiting up for all 17 regular-season contests with the team in 2025, Whiteheart contributed on special teams and as a blocker on offense. He stands to reprise a similar depth role during the 2026 campaign.
Whiteheart was not tendered by the Browns, Daniel Oyefusi of ESPN.com reports. Whiteheart was a restricted free agent but will now enter the pool of unrestricted players able to be signed by any organization. The tight end played in all 17 regular-season games for the Browns in 2025, primarily playing a blocking role for both the offense and special-teams unit. The 25-year-old can be a strong No. 3 tight end for any team looking to build up its offensive trenches.
Whiteheart had two catches on six targets for four yards over 17 regular-season games in 2025. Whiteheart spent the entire season on the Browns' 53-man roster as the team's third tight end. Cleveland's tight ends turned out to be major targets, but he was never a factor in the passing attack, even in the final few games when injuries hit both David Njoku (knee) and Harold Fannin (groin). Whiteheart enters restricted free agency this offseason.
