Hines (knee) is slated to sign a one-year deal with the Browns, Adam Schefter of ESPN reports. The report indicates that Hines' deal is worth up to $3.5 million. The 27-year-old is attempting to bounce back from a left ACL injury that he sustained last July and which cost him the entire 2023 season. When healthy, Hines should provide the Browns backfield with an experienced pass-catching/change-of-pace option, while also adding utility as a kick returner.
The Bills released Hines (knee) on Wednesday with a non-football injury designation. Adam Schefter of ESPN previously noted that Hines, who is recovering from an ACL injury that cost the running back the 2023 season, will likely be ready to take the field by training camp. Assuming no setbacks, Hines should be able to compete for a change-of-pace/return role in 2024, but the 27-year-old will need to re-prove his health before re-entering the fantasy equation in PPR formats.
The Bills plan to release Hines (knee) during the upcoming week, Adam Schefter of ESPN reports. Though Hines is expected to attain full medical clearance ahead of training camp while he nears the finish line in his recovery from the ACL reconstruction surgery he required last August, he'll have to find work elsewhere while Buffalo looks to utilize his 90-man offseason roster spot on another player. After being acquired from the Colts in November 2022 in exchange for running back Zack Moss and a 2023 fifth-round draft pick, Hines appeared in just seven games for Buffalo, carrying 18 times for 36 yards and a touchdown to go with 25 catches for 188 yards while also contributing as a punt returner. If teams are satisfied with where Hines stands in his ongoing recovery from knee surgery, he could have an opportunity to battle for a third-down role out of the backfield at his next stop.
