Hicks has already been ruled out for Sunday's game against the Broncos, but his release from the hospital should be good news for his recovery moving forward. It's still unclear how much time, if any, the 31-year-old may miss beyond Week 11.
Apparently, Hicks will likely need at least a week to recover, so it would seem he'll probably be sitting out in Week 11. If he does miss time, Troy Dye could be in line for an expanded role at inside linebacker.
Hicks left the game in the first quarter but was able to return and finished with seven tackles (three solo). His participation in practice in the upcoming week will indicate Hick's availability for Week 11 against the Broncos, but the fact he was able to return to Sunday's game bodes well for his chances.
Hicks appeared to have sustained the injury in the first quarter. He checked back into the game before exiting for a second time. Nick Vigil is set to get an uptick in defensive snaps for as long as Hicks remains out.
Hicks continues to pile up the tackles as he's averaging 8.9 total tackles per game, up from 5.1 per game last season.
