Bush (thigh) is inactive for Saturday's Week 18 matchup versus the Ravens. It was an ominous sign when Bush was a late addition to the Browns' injury report Saturday morning, and the veteran linebacker will ultimately be forced to miss his first game of the campaign. Bush had ben hovering around a 50 percent defensive snap-share count since Week 12 while also contributing on special teams. He'll finish the 2024 campaign with 76 tackles (45 solo), including 1.0 sacks, and three pass defenses over 16 contests. Bush will be a free agent at the conclusion of the campaign.
Bush (thigh) is questionable for Saturday's Week 18 battle against Baltimore, Daniel Oyefusi of ESPN.com reports. It's unclear when Bush picked up the injury -- though he began the practice week labeled with an elbow issue, he was able to log a full practice each day and didn't have an injury designation until early Saturday. It's also unclear how serious the thigh issue is or what the likelihood is of Bush missing Saturday's regular-season finale. If he can't play against the Ravens, Winston Reid could be in line for more defensive snaps.
Bush recorded six tackles (one solo), including a tackle for a loss, in Sunday's 27-14 defeat to the Steelers. The linebacker now has 63 tackles (36 solo), including 1.0 sacks, on the year. Bush has only played on more than 80 percent of the defensive snaps twice this season, but he has clearly been active when he's been on the field.
Bush recorded eight total tackles (six solo), including two tackles for loss, in Sunday's 35-14 loss to the Saints. Bush was one of the few bright spots on the Browns' defense in Sunday's blowout loss, finishing as the team's second-leading tackler. The 2019 first-round pick from Michigan has now played 71-plus percent of the Browns' defensive snaps in consecutive games, recording 16 total tackles, including 1.0 sacks and an additional two tackles for loss. He's expected to continue making plays for Cleveland's defense ahead of the Week 12 matchup against the Steelers on Thursday night.
Bush tallied eight tackles (six solo), including 1.0 sacks, in Sunday's Week 9 loss to the Chargers. Despite the defeat, Cleveland did a good job getting to Chargers quarterback Justin Herbert, racking up six sacks as a team. Bush had one of those sacks, pulling down Herbert for a two-yard loss with under a minute remaining in the second quarter. The sack was the first of the season for Bush and his first since he collected 2.0 sacks for Pittsburgh in 2021.
Bush recorded 10 tackles (eight solo) and a pass defensed during Sunday's 34-13 loss at Washington. Bush logged a season-high 61 defensive snaps with Jordan Hicks (elbow) out in Week 5, and he led his team in tackles in turn. If either Hicks or Jeremiah Owusu-Koramoah (undisclosed) is out for Week 6, Bush could have some IDP appeal.
The Browns signed Bush to a one-year deal Thursday, Adam Schefter of ESPN reports. The 2019 first-round pick spent the first four years of his career with the Steelers and he'll be coming back to the AFC North after signing with Cleveland on Thursday. Bush played 10 or fewer defensive snaps in seven of his 13 games last season, but he still recorded 37 total tackles, including five tackles for loss. The Michigan product will likely have the chance to compete for a starting spot in the Browns' linebacker corps this offseason.
