Dropped by Denver
The Broncos cut Davis from their practice squad Monday, Mike Klis of 104.3 FM The Fan reports. Davis rejoined the Broncos' practice squad on Oct. 8, but it now appears the team has decided to move in a different direction. In a corresponding move, the Broncos signed cornerback Quinton Newsome to their practice squad to ensure secondary depth with Patrick Surtain (concussion) likely missing Thursday night's matchup against the Saints.
Back to Denver practice squad
The Broncos re-signed Davis to their practice squad Tuesday, Aaron Wilson of KPRC 2 Houston reports. Denver cut Davis from the practice squad last week in order to make room for Salvon Ahmed. This will be Davis' fourth different stint with the Broncos' practice squad since entering the league in 2022 as an undrafted rookie out of Northwest Missouri State. He's yet to appear in a regular-season NFL game.
Waived by Denver
The Broncos waived Davis from the practice squad Tuesday, Mike Klis of 9NEWS reports. The move makes room on the practice squad for running back Salvon Ahmed. Davis joined the Broncos' practice squad in mid-September after failing to make the Lions' 53-man roster at the end of training camp. Assuming he clears waivers, the 26-year-old will look to join a team in need of depth at wide receiver.
Joins Denver's practice squad
The Broncos are signing Davis to the practice squad Wednesday, Mike Garafolo of NFL Network reports. Davis spent time with Detroit this preseason, and despite some flashes, he couldn't secure a spot on the 53-man roster. The second-year pro will now get a chance to continue his development on Denver's practice squad.
Done in Detroit
The Lions waived Davis on Monday, Jordan Schultz of BleacherReport.com reports. Despite some flashes in the preseason, Davis didn't manage to secure a spot on Detroit's initial 53-man roster, but he could resurface as a member of the team's practice squad no other club shows greater interest in his services. Davis spent most of last season on Arizona's practice squad, and he was active for one game with the team but didn't play any snaps.
Joining Detroit
The Lions are signing Davis to a contract after he attended rookie camp on a tryout basis, Mike Garafolo of NFL Network reports. Davis was waived by the Cardinals in late April after spending most of last year on the team's practice squad. He was active for one contest during the campaign but didn't see any snaps. The 25-year-old will get a shot to compete for a roster spot among a wide-receiver corps that is headed by Amon-Ra St. Brown and Jameson Williams.
Cut by Arizona
The Cardinals waived Davis on Tuesday, Josh Weinfuss of ESPN.com reports. Davis spent most of the 2023 season on Arizona's practice squad. The Cardinals drafted a pair of wideouts in last week's NFL Draft, so Davis will look for work elsewhere.
