USA vs. Trinidad & Tobago: Time, Channel, Lineup

It was a scary start, but USNMT got the job done last week against St. Vincent/Grenadines.

Tonight against Trinidad & Tobago, they can’t afford the same kind of sloppy start.

USA surrendered the game’s opening goal to Sounders reservist Oalex Anderson in the game’s opening minutes last week, but composed and dominated for a 6-1 victory. The opening goal was jarring for the USA defense, who looked sloppy but outlasted an SVG side that tired quickly.

The same won’t be said for T&T, who are not to be fooled with. Trinidad & Tobago won Group A over Mexico at the Gold Cup, only to be eliminated by Panama via penalties. T&T emerged from their first qualifier with three points, after going on the road to defeat Guatemala, 2-1.

For just the second time since their World Cup exit, Tim Howard will start in goal for USA. It’s Howard’s first appearance since Klinsmann announced he and Guzan would be splitting time in goal for USA.
