Top 10 Pound for Pound WEC Fighters
Zuffa’s World Extreme Cage Fighting brand has established itself as one of the most exciting fight promotions in the world. With a focus on smaller weight classes, the WEC features explosive MMA action in the bantamweight, featherweight and lightweight divisions.
In the wake of WEC 50: Cruz vs. Benavidez 2, Heavy MMA ranks the top 10 greatest fighters that the WEC has to offer.

10. Anthony Pettis (MMA Record: 12-1, WEC Record: 3-1)
Following a highly impressive submission victory over Shane Roller, it’s tough not to include Pettis on this list. Roller is an elite level wrestler and yet Pettis completely stuffed his takedown attempts and even managed to bring the All-American wrestler down to the mat a few times in the fight as well.
As a striker, Pettis is easily the most dynamic standup artist in the WEC’s lightweight division and his ground game is top notch too. Barring a split decision loss to Bart Palaszewski in his WEC debut, “Showtime” has finished every opponent that the WEC has thrown his way. He has to be considered a huge threat to current champion Ben Henderson.
