White (coach's decision) is inactive for Sunday's game against the Rams. White, whom Seattle signed off its practice squad in mid-November, will close the season as a healthy inactive for the fifth consecutive game. Before his recent streak of absences, the 26-year-old receiver appeared in four games for Seattle and recorded two catches for 44 yards on three targets over 59 snaps on offense.
The Seahawks signed White from the practice squad to the active roster Saturday. White's lone elevation from the practice squad came in Week 9 against the Rams, when he caught two passes (on three targets) for 44 yards. White is unlikely to see much playing time on offense, especially with DK Metcalf returning from a two-game absence due to a knee injury, though the former could contribute on special teams.
White reverted to the Seahawks' practice squad Monday, per the NFL's official transaction log. White was elevated for Sunday's 26-20 overtime loss to the Rams with DK Metcalf out with a knee injury, and he played on 35 of 80 offensive snaps, catching two of his three targets for 44 yards and no scores. Jaxon Smith-Ngiba (71 snaps), Tyler Lockett (71 snaps) and Jake Bobo (42 snaps) all played more than White on Sunday, though the call-up did play more than Dareke Young (six snaps) and Laviska Shenault (three snaps). White also played on 11 special-teams snaps and blocked a punt.
The Seahawks elevated White from their practice squad Saturday, John Boyle of the team's official site reports. If he's active Sunday, White will suit up for the first time since he played in one game for the Steelers in 2022. The 25-year-old spent part of last year on Seattle's practice squad but didn't get elevated at any point. White's elevation this weekend is tied to DK Metcalf being sidelined due to a knee injury.
The Seahawks signed White to the practice squad Wednesday. White spent portions of the 2023 season on the Seahawks' practice squad, but he did not play in a single regular-season game. He finished the preseason catching four passes (on nine targets) for 74 yards, but he wasn't able to crack Seattle's 53-man roster. White will stick around on the taxi squad and stay ready for a promotion to the active roster.
White was waived by the Seahawks on Tuesday, John Boyle of the team's official site reports. White signed with Seattle in January but was unable to earn a spot on the team's final roster. The 25-year-old will now look for a new opportunity elsewhere.
A little more than a month after cutting White from their practice squad, Seattle has decided to bring him back into the fold ahead of Week 13. If 2022 seventh-rounder Dareke Young (abdomen) is unable to play, White could be elevated to the active roster as soon as Thursday at Dallas.
White just signed with Seattle's practice unit last week, so his time there was short. He spent training camp with the Steelers before landing on injured reserve and subsequently reaching an injury settlement. The pass catcher will now need to find a new opportunity yet again.
