Dre'Mont Jones: Breaking News

Agrees to three-year deal with NE

Jones agreed to a three-year, $39.5 million contract with the Patriots on Monday, Ian Rapoport of NFL Network reports. Jones' deal won't be official until the new league year begins Wednesday, but the parameters of the contract are in place and include $14.5 million in the first year. Jones had a rare 18-game regular season in 2025 due to a midseason trade from Tennessee to Baltimore, and he took advantage of the extra game to set a new career high with 7.0 sacks, surpassing his totals of 6.5 from the 2020 and 2022 regular seasons with Denver. He'll be a key piece of the pass rush in New England.

Struggles in Baltimore

Jones tallied 43 total tackles (19 solo), including 7.0 sacks, and one pass defensed across 18 appearances in 2025. The 29-year-old linebacker was dealt from Tennessee to Baltimore in early November, appearing in nine games with each team. In the four games prior to the trade, Jones was one of the league's most productive pass rushers, recording 4.5 sacks. However, he struggled to remain consistent and tallied just 2.5 sacks over his final nine contests with the Ravens. Now set to hit unrestricted free agency this offseason, Jones will likely be a hot commodity for teams in need of a starting-caliber pass rusher.

Heads to Baltimore

Tennessee traded Jones to the Ravens on Monday in exchange for a conditional fifth-round draft pick, Ian Rapoport of NFL Network reports. Jones provides immediate pass-rush help to Baltimore, as he's logged 4.5 sacks over his past four games. That fills a critical need for the Ravens, who are currently tied for second-to-last in the NFL in sacks this season with 11. Jones also gives Baltimore important versatility, as he can line up both on the edge and along the interior. He'd logged between 3.5 and 6.5 regular-season sacks in each of his first six NFL campaigns coming into 2025.
