Smith completed 28 of 40 pass attempts for 284 yards and a touchdown while adding 72 rushing yards on four attempts in Sunday's 29-20 loss to the Giants. Smith did his usual thing from the pocket Sunday, and he delighted fantasy managers with a rare 72-yard performance as a rusher. That set a new high-water mark in rushing yards in a single game for the veteran quarterback a week after setting a new high in passing yards (395) against the Lions last Sunday. The Seahawks have hit a two-game skid, but Smith has been doing his part with strong numbers heading into Thursday's tilt against San Francisco.

Sets another career high Sunday
Sets new career highs on MNF
Smith completed 38 of 56 pass attempts for 395 yards, one touchdown and one interception while rushing five times for 28 yards in Monday's 42-29 loss to the Lions. Smith set new career highs in passing attempts, completions and yards in a desperate attempt to keep the Seahawks afloat against a flawless Lions squad on Monday Night Football. The end result was positive for fantasy managers after the veteran QB threw for 300-plus yards for the second time in three weeks. Smith has struggled from a touchdown to turnover standpoint, throwing four of both through four games in 2024. The 3-1 Seahawks will set their sights on the Giants in a home matchup Sunday.
Overcomes turnovers in win
Smith completed 26 of 34 pass attempts for 289 yards, one touchdown and two interceptions in Sunday's 24-3 win over the Dolphins. Smith threw a pair of interceptions and nearly had a third turnover had he not recovered his own fumble in Sunday's lopsided win. In better news for his fantasy managers, the veteran signal-caller still provided 289 passing yards and a touchdown to help offset his gaffes. Smith has averaged over 300 passing yards over his last two contests heading into a Week 4 matchup against the Lions on Monday Night Football.
Big performance against Pats
Smith completed 33 of 44 passes for 327 yards with one touchdown and no interceptions in Sunday's 23-20 overtime win over New England. He added five rushes for eight yards. Smith saw some additional volume thanks to overtime, but he was asked to take to the air more than in Week 1. He responded with a strong performance, highlighted by a 56-yard touchdown to DK Metcalf late in the first quarter while also showing strong rapport with Jaxon Smith-Njigba. The downside to his performance was that he found the end zone only once, but it was an encouraging performance heading into a Week 3 matchup against Miami.
Chips in two TDs in win
Smith completed 18 of 25 pass attempts for 171 yards, one touchdown and one interception while ripping off a 34-yard touchdown run in Sunday's 26-20 win over Denver. The veteran's other three rushing attempts came in the form of kneel-downs as Seattle wrapped up its first victory of the 2024 campaign. Smith wasn't relied upon heavily in a game that was highlighted by Seattle's running backs and defensive unit. The 33-year-old remains a steady middling fantasy option as the Seahawks prepare to face the Patriots in Week 2.
Sharp on one drive Saturday
Smith completed four of five passes for 62 yards with one touchdown and no interceptions in the Seahawks' 37-33 preseason win over the Browns on Saturday night. The veteran signal-caller drew the start, and after throwing incomplete to DK Metcalf on his first pass attempt, he proceeded to briskly march the Seahawks downfield on a 62-yard touchdown drive. Along the way, Smith recorded completions of 25 and seven yards to Jaxon Smith-Njigba, as well as a 21-yard scoring toss to Metcalf, getting some very encouraging tune-up work completed before a Week 1 home showdown against the Broncos on Sept. 8. Smith will be operating in a new offense this season, but his core of skill players has full continuity, upping his chances of success.
On track to play Saturday
Coach Mike Macdonald relayed Thursday that most of Seattle's starters, including Smith, are in line to play in the team's preseason finale against the Browns on Saturday, Curtis Crabtree of Fox 13 Seattle and Gregg Bell of The Tacoma News Tribune report. Smith didn't see action in either of the Seahawks' first two exhibition contests, but he's slated to get some work in this weekend, along with the team's other healthy starters on offense. Once Smith gives way to his backups Saturday, his focus will turn to a Week 1 matchup against the Broncos.
Not expected to suit up vs. Titans
Coach Mike Macdonald said Monday that Seattle's starters, Smith included, aren't expected to play in Saturday's preseason game against the Titans, Curtis Crabtree of Fox 13 Seattle reports. Macdonald looks set to hold the Seahawks' starting units out of a second straight exhibition matchup, as Smith also didn't suit up this past Saturday against the Chargers. Instead, Macdonald stressed that the starters will get plenty of reps during joint practices with Tennessee, which will be fully padded. Smith dealt with hip and knee injuries earlier in training camp but has been a full participant at practice as of late.
Unlikely to play Saturday
Smith isn't slated to play in Saturday's preseason contest at the Chargers, Michael-Shawn Dugar of The Athletic reports. Smith has tended to hip and knee injuries during training camp, so it's no surprise that coach Mike Macdonald will delay what may be just a cameo for the first-team offense during exhibition season. In two campaigns as the Seahawks' starting quarterback, he's averaged 247.1 passing yards per game while accruing a 50:20 TD:INT across 32 regular-season contests.
