Danielle Trotta is a veteran sports reporter and host currently working for Fox Sports 1 on the network’s NASCAR coverage.

She began her television career at a young age. From 1995-99, Trotta worked for her high school’s 24-hour local channel as host and reporter.

She had internships at TV stations in Indianapolis and Charlotte during college, and after graduation, was hired as a weekend news editor at WBTV in Charlotte. There she was a photographer and editor before convincing management to allow her an on-air shot.

Trotta has been in front of the camera since.

Trotta co-hosts Fox Sports 1’s NASCAR Race Hub, the network’s daily news program, with Adam Alexander and John Roberts.

She also hosts of NASCAR RaceDay, the network’s pre-race show for the Sprint Cup Series.



2. She Joined Fox in 2010

Trotta joined the Fox sports in July 2010 as a reporter for Race Hub and made an immediate impression.

By 2012, she was moved into a co-hosting role. Also that year, Trotta was tabbed to host the SPEED network’s coverage of the Sprint Awards Ceremony from Las Vegas.



3. Trotta Has Also Covered ACC Football

Prior to joining Fox, Trotta covered ACC sports while in Charlotte.

She hosted The ACC Blitz, the ACC Network’s pregame and halftime show, with Tommy Bowden in 2011.

Trotta also spent 5 years with WBTV in Charlotte, serving as the host of Sports Saturday Night and co-host of Football Friday Night. She has written football columns for Charlotte Weekly.



4. Her Boyfriend Is Robby Benton, Owner of RAB Racing

Trotta is dating Robby Benton, owner of RAB Racing, a team that participates in the Nationwide Series.

They currently have the No. 99 Rheem Toyota for James Buescher.

RAB formerly had drivers in the ARCA and Camping World Trucks Series.



5. Trotta Was Born In New York & Raised in Indiana

Trotta was born in Westchester, New York, but her family moved around a lot because of business. She went to high school in Carmel, Indiana, where she was part of 3 consecutive state championships in swimming and diving.

Trotta attended 4 colleges in Indiana, Vermont, Boston and Charlotte. She is a graduate of University of North Carolina-Charlotte with a degree in Mass Communications.
