Heidi Strobel Hamels, who rose to fame as a contestant on the CBS reality show Survivor, is the wife of Texas Rangers pitcher Cole Hamels. The couple, who have been married since 2006, have given a lot back to the community through their involvement in several charities. Most recently Cole and Heidi donated their $9.4 million Missouri mansion to Camp Barnabas, a charity that helps children with special needs and chronic illnesses, along with their siblings. The 32,000-square-foot home sits on more than 100 acres along the Table Rock Lake. "There are tons of amazing charities in Southwest Missouri. Out of all of these, Barnabas really pulled on our heartstrings," Cole Hamels said in a statement. "Seeing the faces, hearing the laughter, reading the stories of the kids they serve; there is truly nothing like it. Barnabas makes dreams come true, and we felt called to help them in a big way." Heidi added, "We love that Barnabas sees the bigger picture. They are changing the way the world sees disability ministry." Read on through this gallery to learn more about Heidi Hamels.
