It was supposed to be a look into the future of the NFL, when Jameis Winston and the Buccaneers meet the Colts for a Week 12 matchup. Instead, Matt Hasselbeck will make his fourth start of the season for the Colts, who are an early three-point favorite in Indianapolis.
The Buccaneers are coming off their best offensive performance of the season during a 45-17 win over the Eagles. Winston’s five TD passes tied rookie and franchise records, and the Bucs have won back-to-back games for the first time since Week 12 of the 2013 season.
The Colts just keep chugging along, collecting wins with the help from veteran talent. 40-year old backup Hasselbeck is 3-0 in starts this season, 32-year old Frank Gore is moving the chains, and 42-year old Adam Vinatieri is still kicking game-winners.
Both the Colts and Buccaneers are 5-1 against the spread in the last six weeks, making this a matchup of two of the NFL’s hottest teams. The Colts currently hold a tiebreaker lead over the Texans in the AFC South.
