WATCH: Victor Cruz Announces He Won’t Return to Giants This Year

Victor Cruz won’t be salsa’ing for the rest of the season.

The New York Giants wide receiver announced on Monday morning that he would not be returning to the field this season due to lingering complications from a calf injury. Check out the video here:

Cruz had originally injured his knee against the Philadelphia Eagles last year and had surgery to repair the injury. He rehbab’ed throughout the offseason before injuring his calm earlier this year.

Cruz attempted to return for Week 4 of the regular season, but suffered a setback in practice that week and has not been able to get back on the field since. Still, the Giants had been confident that their wide receiver would be able to return.

According to NJ.com Cruz had been taking platlet-rich plasma injections and was slated to start running routes this week.

“It helped [the second time]. Even after a couple days I could start to feel it,” Cruz said of the injection. “It really helps in advancing the healing process in whatever area you need it in. It helped me a lot.”

The Giants are on a bye this week, following their last-second 27-26 loss to the New England Patriots.
