Matt Kenseth pulled away from Tony Stewart late to win the New Hampshire 301 on Sunday.

Kenseth took the checkered flag by almost 2 seconds for the victory at New Hampshire Motor Speedway.

Joey Logano, Kevin Harvick, Greg Biffle rounded out the top 5 at the “Magic Mile” in Loudon. Pole-sitter Jimmie Johnson placed 12th and Alex Bowman, who was filling in for the injured Dale Earnhardt Jr., crashed late after running in the top 10. Junior missed the race with concussion-like symptoms.

Kenseth led for 38 laps in a race that saw 7 cautions for 36 laps. More than half the yellow flags came out with less than 50 laps remaining. Kenseth won last fall’s race at NHMS and it gave Joe Gibbs Racing a record-tying 9th victory at the track.

More than half of the race was a two-man battle between Kurt Busch and Martin Truex Jr. before Kenseth took control. Busch led 133 laps to finish 8th, Truex (16th) was in front for 123.

The series heads to Indianapolis Motor Speedway next Sunday, July 24, for the Combat Wounded Coalition 400 at the Brickyard. The race is scheduled for 3 p.m. Eastern and will be televised by NBC Sports Network (NBCSN).

There are just 7 races left before the Chase for the Cup begins on September 18 in Chicago. Click here to see Chase Grid as it stands now.
