The Undertaker has returned to the WWE roster. On SmackDown Live last night, The Deadman announced that he will now be a part of SmackDown, making this clear at the conclusion of the 900th show. So what’s next for The Undertaker? What does the WWE have planned for him?
During his segment on SmackDown this week, The Undertaker said that he has a vested interest in seeing Team Blue succeed at Survivor Series and that if Team Raw wins, there’s going to be hell to pay. The rumor for what’s next is a major spoiler for Survivor Series.
Cageside Seats is reporting that Team SmackDown will lose to Team Raw at Survivor Series. Then, the person who cost Team SmackDown the win will become the target of The Undertaker, and that will turn into a major feud leading into Royal Rumble. At Royal Rumble in January, there will be a match between The Undertaker and his new enemy, i.e. whoever costs Team Blue the victory on Sunday.
If true, this would narrow down The Undertaker’s next target to a five potential superstars. Team SmackDown consists of AJ Styles, Dean Ambrose, Bray Wyatt, Randy Orton, and Shane McMahon. Presumably, one of them will be the reason Team Raw wins unless there’s some sort of outside interference. There’s also, of course, James Ellsworth, the team’s mascot, though a months-long feud between The Undertaker and James Ellsworth seems a bit too ridiculous even for SmackDown.
On SmackDown this week, The Undertaker approached the members of the SmackDown men’s team, telling them that Team Raw better be defeated this Sunday.
“There’s no reason to fear failure, but if you fail, you will have reason to fear The Deadman,” he said.
Leading into Survivor Series, Team Red and Team Blue have both clashed on one another’s shows this week, with the Raw superstars being victorious on Monday and the SmackDown superstars being victorious on Tuesday. This has been the first major instance of the two shows crossing over into one another since the brand split back in July.
Also at Survivor Series will be a battle between the two women’s divisions, with Charlotte Flair, Bayley, Nia Jax, Alicia Fox, and Sasha Banks going up against Nikki Bella, Becky Lynch, Alexa Bliss, Carmella, and Naomi. Plus, there will be a competition between the tag teams as well, with The New Day, Sheamus and Cesaro, Luke Gallows and Karl Anderson, Enzo Amore and Big Cass, and The Shining Stars fighting Heath Slater and Rhyno, The Hype Bros, American Alpha, The Usos and Breezango.
The main event, of course, is the match between Goldberg and Brock Lesnar, which is over a decade in the making.
