Reverts to practice squad

Jones reverted to the Cardinals' practice squad Monday, per the NFL's transaction log. Jones signed with the Cardinals' practice squad Dec. 18 and was elevated for the regular-season finale against the 49ers on Sunday. He ended up playing 15 snaps (five on offense, 10 on special teams), and ripped off a 46-yard touchdown run late in the fourth quarter to finish with 55 rushing yards and a score on four carries.

Elevated for Week 18

The Cardinals elevated Jones from the practice squad to the active roster Saturday. Jones injured his shoulder during the preseason, which caused him to be let go by the Cardinals in late August with an injury settlement. He signed with Arizona's practice squad Dec. 18, and now that he's on the active roster, the 27-year-old will serve as the Cardinals' No. 3 running back behind Michael Carter and DeeJay Dallas for Sunday's regular-season finale against the 49ers.

Joins Cardinals' practice squad

Arizona signed Jones to its practice squad Wednesday, Darren Urban of the Cardinals' official site reports. Arizona cut Jones from its injured reserve list prior to Week 1 of the regular season, but now he's back with the organization ahead of Week 16. With both Trey Benson (ankle) and Emari Demercado (back) dealing with injuries, it makes sense that the Cardinals are exploring depth options at running back.
