Latest Golden Knights News
Brett Howden : Lights lamp Tuesday
Howden scored a goal and added two hits in Tuesday's 5-3 loss to the Hurricanes in Game 4 of the Stanley Cup Finals. Howden has yet to be held off the scoresheet against Carolina, racking up four goals and two assists over four contests. His tally Tuesday tied the game at 3-3 in the second period, but the Golden Knights weren't able to pull ahead. Howden has a playoff-best 14 goals -- two more than his regular-season total -- and has added four assists, 37 shots on net, 58 hits and a plus-14 rating over 20 appearances this postseason.
Mark Stone : Pots goal in Game 4 loss
Stone scored a goal on five shots and added six hits in Tuesday's 5-3 loss to the Hurricanes in Game 4 of the Stanley Cup Finals. Stone has scored four goals and added an assist over six games since he returned from a lower-body injury. The winger got the Golden Knights on the board with a goal off a rush in the first period. He's up to seven tallies, 12 points, 34 shots, 31 hits and a minus-1 rating through 15 playoff appearances. Stone has been back in a top-six role lately after initially playing on the third line following his injury.
William Karlsson : One of each in loss
Karlsson scored a goal and added an assist in Tuesday's 5-3 loss to the Hurricanes in Game 4 of the Stanley Cup Finals. Karlsson earned both points in the second period to help the Golden Knights erase a two-goal deficit. He has picked up four points, seven shots on net and a plus-6 rating over four contests against the Hurricanes. Overall, the center has three goals, six helpers, 23 shots, 12 blocked shots and a plus-11 rating as a reliable top-six forward.
Carter Hart : Takes loss in Game 4
Hart stopped 23 of 27 shots in Tuesday's 5-3 loss to the Hurricanes in Game 4 of the Stanley Cup Finals. The fifth goal was an empty-netter. Hart was blitzed for three goals on 14 shots in the first period. The Golden Knights wiped out that deficit in the second, but Jordan Staal's second goal of the game at 6:32 of the third was the difference. Nothing has come easy for Hart in this series -- he's allowed four goals in each game, a total of 16 goals against on 115 shots, which has put extra pressure on the Vegas offense. There's been no indication a change is coming in the crease, so Hart will likely get the chance to bounce back in a pivotal Game 5 in Carolina on Thursday.
Carter Hart : Tending twine Tuesday
Hart will patrol the home crease against Carolina in Game 4 on Tuesday, Danny Webster of the Las Vegas Review-Journal reports. Hart made 29 saves in Saturday's 5-4 double-overtime win over the Hurricanes in Game 3. He has a 14-5 record this postseason with a 2.44 GAA and a .913 save percentage. However, he has allowed four goals in each of his first three outings against Carolina during the Stanley Cup Finals.
Brayden McNabb : Deals pair of helpers in Game 3
McNabb produced two assists and a plus-3 rating in Saturday's 5-4 double-overtime win over the Hurricanes in Game 3 of the Stanley Cup Finals. McNabb wore a full face shield and had visible stitches on his nose, the result of taking a slap shot to the face in Game 2 on Thursday. The 35-year-old defenseman still skated 35:47 in this marathon contest, and he chipped in primary assists on the second goal of Mitch Marner's hat trick as well as Shea Theodore's winner 5:38 into the second overtime. McNabb mostly functions as a shutdown defenseman, but he's earned six helpers over his last four games. Overall, he's at nine points, 19 shots on net, 34 hits, 33 blocked shots, 19 PIM and a plus-13 rating over 18 playoff contests. He'll likely be able to continue playing as long as he can manage the pain from his injured face, and he'll be counted on for top-four minutes.
Tomas Hertl : Pair of points in win
Hertl scored a power-play goal on two shots, added an assist and logged five hits in Saturday's 5-4 double-overtime win over the Hurricanes in Game 3 of the Stanley Cup Finals. Hertl broke the scoreless deadlock at 10:26 of the second period. He also set up the third goal of Mitch Marner's hat trick later in the frame. While Hertl ended up with a team-low 15:20 of ice time, he was able to be productive again. He has four points over three contests against the Hurricanes and is up to five goals, eight assists, 31 shots on net, 39 hits and a plus-1 rating over 19 playoff outings. He continues to work in a third-line role as well as on the top power-play unit.
Shea Theodore : Ends double-overtime thriller
Theodore scored the game-winning goal, dished an assist, fired three shots on net, blocked three shots, added two PIM and went plus-3 in Saturday's 5-4 double-overtime win over the Hurricanes in Game 3 of the Stanley Cup Finals. The tally was his second overtime goal of this postseason, coming 5:38 into the second extra session. Theodore's offense has erupted in this round with five points over three games against the Hurricanes. The defenseman is up to six goals, 10 assists, 37 shots on net, 52 blocked shots, eight PIM and a plus-14 rating over 19 playoff appearances. Theodore continues to see ample ice time on the top pairing.
