Forsberg stopped 27 of 31 shots in Sunday's 5-1 loss to the Avalanche in Game 4 of the Western Conference first round. The fifth goal was an empty-netter. Forsberg didn't win a single game in the playoffs as Colorado swept the Kings, and even though the outcome of the series wasn't Forsberg's fault, it's worth noting he posted a save percentage under .880 in his last two starts. Forsberg ends the playoff run having allowed 11 goals on 121 shots (.909 save percentage) over four games in another first-round exit for the Kings.

Latest Kings News
Anton Forsberg : Ends playoff run winless
Forsberg stopped 27 of 31 shots in Sunday's 5-1 loss to the Avalanche in Game 4 of the Western Conference first round. The fifth goal was an empty-netter. Forsberg didn't win a single game in the playoffs as Colorado swept the Kings, and even though the outcome of the series wasn't Forsberg's fault, it's worth noting he posted a save percentage under .880 in his last two starts. Forsberg ends the playoff run having allowed 11 goals on 121 shots (.909 save percentage) over four games in another first-round exit for the Kings.
Joel Edmundson : Scores in playoff exit
Edmundson scored a goal in Sunday's 5-1 loss to the Avalanche in Game 4 of the Western Conference first round. Edmundson found the back of the net in the second period with a wrister, but that would be all the offense the Kings would muster throughout the game. It was also Edmundson's lone point of a playoff run that ended with Sunday's loss. He had a career-high 23 points (two goals, 21 assists) in 82 regular-season contests, but he was far from a reliable fantasy performer, although he had more upside in leagues that reward physicality with his 97 hits and 111 blocked shots.
Anze Kopitar : Retirement official
Kopitar's 20-year NHL career came to a close Sunday, per the NHLPA. The Kings were swept in the first round of the 2026 playoffs by the Avalanche on Sunday. Kopitar retires as the Kings' all-time scoring leader, having amassed 1,316 points in 1,521 regular-season games. He also added 27 tallies and 62 assists in 107 playoff outings while leading the team to two Stanley Cup championships in 2012 and 2014.
Anton Forsberg : Facing Avalanche in Game 4
Forsberg will protect the home net against Colorado on Sunday in Game 4, Zach Dooley of the Kings' official site reports. Forsberg is still seeking his first NHL postseason win. During the opening round of the 2026 Stanley Cup Playoffs, he has gone 0-3 versus the Avalanche despite allowing only seven goals on 90 shots.
Alex Laferriere : Helps out on both goals in loss
Laferriere registered two assists, six shots on goal and two hits in Thursday's 4-2 loss to the Avalanche in Game 3. Laferriere has done alright with three helpers (two on the power play), 14 shots, 12 hits and a minus-2 rating over three contests in this first-round series. That gives him involvement in three of the Kings' four goals. This is his third taste of postseason action -- he logged five points across 11 games over each of the last two playoff runs, though Laferriere is on the verge of going 0-for-3 in getting out of the first round in his young career.
Trevor Moore : Deposits goal in loss
Moore scored a goal on two shots and added two hits in Thursday's 4-2 loss to the Avalanche in Game 3. This was Moore's first goal and second point over three games this postseason. He's added eight shots on net, five hits and a minus-1 rating, serving as an effective middle-six winger despite the Kings being down 3-0 in the series. In his previous playoff experience, he collected 14 points in 31 appearances over five separate postseason runs.
Adrian Kempe : Pots power-play goal
Kempe scored a power-play goal on two shots and went minus-3 in Thursday's 4-2 loss to the Avalanche in Game 3. Kempe has had trouble this postseason, as this was his first goal in three playoff games. He's added five shots on net, three hits, four PIM and a minus-3 rating. The Kings are facing elimination as soon as Sunday's Game 4, so they'll need more out of their top players. In previous playoff runs, Kempe collected 15 goals and 29 points across 28 appearances. Barring a miracle, this will be the fifth straight year with a first-round exit for the Kings.
Anton Forsberg : Falters on home ice
Forsberg allowed three goals on 22 shots in Thursday's 4-2 loss to the Avalanche in Game 3. The fourth goal was an empty-netter. Forsberg has allowed seven goals on 90 shots over three playoff contests, but he is 0-3, leaving the Kings on the brink of elimination. The 33-year-old was always going to have a tough time taking on the top team in the league, but he's put in a good effort to keep games competitive in the first round. Game 4 is set for Sunday in Los Angeles.
