Herbert completed 21 of 36 pass attempts for 218 yards, no touchdowns or turnovers while rushing four times for 29 yards and a touchdown in Monday's 30-23 loss to the Ravens. Herbert didn't post big passing numbers on Monday Night Football, but he helped fantasy managers with his second rushing touchdown of the season. The 26-year-old didn't perform poorly as a passer, per se, but it was also his second game this year without throwing a touchdown pass in head coach Jim Harbaugh's more reserved offense. Herbert has a high enough floor to warrant consideration in next Sunday's matchup against the Falcons.

Uses legs to score Monday
Dazzling outing in win
Herbert completed 17 of his 36 pass attempts for 297 yards and two touchdowns in the 34-27 win over the Bengals on Sunday. He also led the team in rushing with 65 yards on five carries. This was easily Herbert's worst game of the season in terms of completion percentage, but the Pro Bowl quarterback continued to hit big play after big play against a soft Bengals defense all night. The 26-year-old also tallied the fourth-most rushing yards of his career thanks in large part to a 30-yard run in the second quarter that eventually helped put the Chargers up two scores following a J.K. Dobbins touchdown. It seems as if Herbert may have found his go-to target in this one too, as Ladd McConkey (6-123) recorded receptions of 28 yards and 27 yards, each beautifully delivered by the gun-slinging quarterback, on what amounted to the game-winning touchdown drive late in the fourth quarter. Herbert could be poised for another excellent fantasy outing next week against the Ravens.
Two touchdowns in win
Herbert completed 14 of his 18 pass attempts for 164 yards and a touchdown in Sunday's 27-17 win over the Titans. He also ran nine times for 32 yards and an additional score. Herbert posted his best completion percentage of the season in a sharp and efficient outing against an overmatched Tennessee team. It was the first time in the last four games the Pro Bowl quarterback failed to eclipse 200-plus passing yards, but that was largely due to game script given the Chargers ran the ball 39 times against their overmatched opponent. Expect Herbert to be in a much better fantasy spot for production next week when he takes on the Bengals pass defense. Of additional note, Herbert has now thrown 210 straight passes without an interception.
Strong showing in win
Herbert completed 18 of 27 passes for 282 yards with two touchdowns and no interceptions and rushed three times for two yards in the Chargers' 27-10 win over the Browns on Sunday. Herbert continued his upward trajectory through the air with another successful passing performance Sunday, posting his third straight total of over 275 passing yards while also tossing multiple touchdowns for the second consecutive contest. On Sunday, those scoring throws went to Joshua Palmer (28 yards) and Quentin Johnston (66 yards) in the first and second quarters, respectively, with both plays occurring at least partly due to busted coverages. In addition to his increased efficiency, Herbert also has a six-game streak without an interception heading into a Week 10 home matchup against the Titans.
Heating up after slow start
Herbert completed 20 of 32 passes for 279 yards and two touchdowns in Sunday's 26-8 win over the Saints. He added 49 yards on four rushing attempts. Herbert threw second-half touchdowns of 60 and nine yards to Ladd McConkey as the Chargers pulled away for an easy win. The fifth-year quarterback's rushing total was bolstered by a career-long 38-yard run in the first quarter. Herbert has averaged 314 passing yards in his last two games after averaging only 163 passing yards per game in his first five starts this season. He seems to be fully recovered from the ankle injury that bothered him earlier in the season, which bodes well for Herbert's chances of building on his recent uptick in Week 9 against the Browns.
Vintage yardage total in loss
Herbert completed 27 of 39 passes for 349 yards with no touchdowns or interceptions and rushed twice for eight yards in the Chargers' 17-15 loss to the Cardinals on Monday night. Herbert turned in a final line reminiscent of previous seasons, even though he was operating without No. 2 receiver Quentin Johnston (ankle). The fifth-year pro connected with an impressive nine different targets on the night on his way to a season high in passing yardage. Herbert did go without a touchdown pass for the first time this season, but he put his team in position for a win by leading a marathon 15-play, 77-yard march that took up over eight minutes in the fourth quarter and culminated in a go-ahead field goal. While the Bolts defense ultimately couldn't hold up its end of the bargain, Herbert appears to be trending in the right direction fantasy-wise heading into a Week 8 home matchup against the Saints.
Season high in passing yards
Herbert completed 21 of his 34 attempts for 237 yards and a touchdown in the 23-16 win over the Broncos on Sunday. Herbert has had significantly better statistical days, but make no mistake, Sunday was one of the best outings of his career. Despite facing a Broncos secondary that had rightfully earned the reputation as one of the best in the league, the Pro Bowl signal caller was flinging it all around the field throughout the first half while dropping dimes against single coverage and throwing frozen ropes on 15-yard first-down darts. It was even more impressive given Quentin Johnston and Ladd McConkey both left at various points in the first half, although his top two targets did return during the contest. Herbert tallied a season-high 184 yards in the first half, and with the Chargers up three scores until the fourth quarter, the offense was content sitting on the ball over the course of the final 30 minutes. The 26-year-old could be poised to build off this performance against a Cardinals defense that allowed four passing touchdowns against the Packers in Week 6.
Good to go Sunday
Herbert (ankle) practiced fully Friday and doesn't carry an injury designation for Sunday's game against the Broncos. After turning in back-to-back limited sessions Wednesday and Thursday, Herbert's full participation Friday paves the way for him to start against Denver this weekend. The QB has been managing an ankle injury of late, but Herbert no doubt benefited from the Chargers' Week 5 bye and should be closer to 100 percent ahead of Week 6 action.
Logs another limited practice
Herbert (ankle) was limited at practice Thursday. After logging back-to-back limited sessions, Herbert likely will need to practice fully Friday in order to avoid a Week 6 injury designation. However, while the QB continues to manage an ankle issue, there's been nothing to suggest that his availability for Sunday's game against the Broncos is in any danger.
