Moore signed with the Cardinals' practice squad Friday. Moore was released from the Cardinals' active roster Wednesday after playing 26 offensive snaps across the team's first five games. However, it appears Arizona had a change of heart, as the 31-year-old wideout will rejoin the team's practice squad. Moore could be elevated to the active roster if Arizona's wide receiver room faces injuries at any point this season.
Slated to be released
The Cardinals will release Moore on Wednesday, Ian Rapoport of NFL Network reports. Moore has played a depth role on offense through each of Arizona's first five games and failed to draw a target across 26 snaps. With Zay Jones (suspension) eligible to return to the field as early as Sunday versus Green Bay, Moore looks as though he'll find himself as the odd man out from Arizona's receiving corps. He could reunite with the Cardinals as a member of the practice squad, however.
One catch Sunday
Moore caught his only target for seven yards in Sunday's 38-12 preseason loss to the Broncos. While he didn't make much of a statistical impact, Moore's lone catch came on the Cardinals' first drive of the game, suggesting he's in the lead for one of the final spots on the wide receiver depth chart. With Zay Jones (suspension) set to miss the first five games of the season, that could open up some slot snaps for a player like Moore, although Greg Dortch should get first crack at that role.
Headed to Arizona
Moore signed a one-year contract with the Cardinals on Thursday, Mike Garafolo of NFL Network reports. Moore has been a possession receiver for the majority of his career, but he flashed big-play ability during the Titans in 2023. Despite making only 22 catches, he had nine receptions of at least 20 yards and three of more than 40 yards. The Cardinals lack clarity in their wide receiver corps, and while they're likely to add to the group in either free agency or through the draft, Moore steps into a situation that currently should afford him plenty of opportunity to produce.
Not practicing, should play Week 9
Moore's availability heading into Week 8 was a question mark after he sustained a concussion Week 6 against the Ravens before the Titans went on bye the following week, but he ultimately cleared the protocol ahead of Sunday's game against the Falcons. In the Titans' 28-23 victory, Moore drew a 40-percent snap share on offense, but he went untargeted for the second time in seven appearances on the season. Moore's personal issue doesn't look like it will prevent him from playing Thursday, but he'll presumably be in store for a limited role in the Tennessee passing attack if all of DeAndre Hopkins, Treylon Burks and Nick Westbrook-Ikhine are available.
