Brown (hamstring) had 76 tackles (44 solo), two interceptions and one forced fumble in 17 regular-season starts with the 49ers in 2025. Brown turned in another solid regular-season campaign splitting time between both starting safety positions while Malik Mustapha started the campaign on the PUP list. The 25-year-old Brown suffered a hamstring injury during the 49ers' postseason run that cost him the team's final game, a road loss to the Seahawks in the divisional round. Assuming that the versatile safety is able to recover in time for training camp, Brown will enter the final year of his rookie deal with the inside track to a starting safety gig.

Ji'Ayir Brown: Breaking News
Won't play vs. Seattle
Brown (hamstring) has been ruled out for Saturday's NFC divisional-round clash against the Seahawks, Briana Jeannel of the 49ers' official site reports. Brown was unable to practice all week due to a hamstring injury he sustained during the 49ers' wild-card win over the Eagles on Sunday. With Brown sidelined, Marques Sigle figures to be the top candidate to start at safety alongside Malik Mustapha while Jason Pinnock and Siran Neal provide depth at the position.
Unable to practice Wednesday
Brown (hamstring) did not participate at practice Wednesday, Cam Inman of The San Jose Mercury News reports. Brown was estimated as a non-participant when the 49ers started their preparations for the Divisional Round with a walkthrough practice Tuesday, and he couldn't take any reps when the club ran a full practice Wednesday. Unless he can get back on the practice field Thursday, he'll be on track to spend Saturday's game at Seattle on the sidelines.
