Maxx Crosby Yet Again Linked to Bears Trade

The Chicago Bears are being linked, again, to a possible Maxx Crosby trade idea, and this one would happen during the 2026 NFL draft.

The Chicago Bears were interested in landing Maxx Crosby from the Las Vegas Raiders, but they weren’t into the idea enough to make it happen in March. Instead, as the story goes, Crosby was traded to the Baltimore Ravens only to be sent back to the Raiders after questions about his health emerged.

So, Crosby is back with the Las Vegas Raiders, and he says that he’s passionate about staying with the team. But, in the NFL, anything can, and will, happen, and Crosby is still considered an ideal trade target for interested teams.

Now, Crosby, yet again, is being linked to the Chicago Bears, and this time, it’s in a dramatic in-draft trade idea. So, don’t bet the house on it, but if this idea comes to life, the Chicago Bears would snag Crosby during the 2026 NFL draft and land their defensive end of the moment.

Maxx Crosby of the Las Vegas Raiders is Still Being Linked to Chicago Bears in NFL Trade Scenarios

In a feature out on Tuesday, April 14, for FanSided, NFL analyst Jake Beckman names seven players who he believes should be traded amid the excitement of the 2026 NFL draft, along with their top landing spots. In the piece, he calls the Chicago Bears an ideal team for this trade.

“When the Ravens backed out of the Maxx Crosby trade at the beginning of March, his value bottomed out,” he notes in the piece. “That means that since then, his value has only gone up, because that’s the only way it can go.”

So, the Chicago Bears could trade for him before his stock goes up too much. Once the season begins again, if Crosby is looking good on the field, and as other defensive ends get injured, he’ll become a more expensive player.

In the piece, Beckman says that he thinks the Raiders still want to trade Crosby. They were probably blindsided after making what they thought was a great deal with the Ravens onto to see it turned around.

“If/when they do trade him, it’s never going to be for two first-round picks like the Ravens were offering, but it would be for a first-round pick and maybe a round two or three pick,” he adds.

So, he puts the Bears in the same conversation as a handful of other NFL teams, along with the Dallas Cowboys and Buffalo Bills.

So, would Ben Johnson really made a blockbuster move and trade with Las Vegas for Crosby in the draft? Stranger things have happened, but Johnson seems almost too level-headed to do something this flashy, especially if the franchise has already moved on from the idea of having Crosby in the fold.

Chicago Bears Could Play It Safe in 2026 NFL Draft and Stick With No. 25 Pick

The Bears could keep things the way they’re currently scheduled, taking the No. 25 pick, and if they do, Peter Schrager of ESPN thinks they’ll take offensive tackle Kadyn Proctor out of Alabama in the draft.

“Proctor is a mass of humanity,” Schrager states in the feature. “He weighed in at 358 pounds at his pro day — but he can move. If he keeps his weight down, Proctor has as much upside as any tackle in this class. And frankly, I think he is going earlier than No. 25.”

He adds that if Chicago were to snag Proctor and get him with Ozzy Trapilo out and Braxton Jones, the Bears “would be happy with this outcome.”
