Golden State Warriors Make Kristaps Porzingis Announcement Before Suns Game

On Friday evening, the Golden State Warriors will be in Phoenix to play the Suns for the play-in tournament.

The Warriors are coming off 126-121 win over the LA Clippers.

Kristaps Porzingis finished with 20 points, five rebounds, five assists, one steal and two blocks while shooting 8/12 from the field and 3/6 from three-point range in 28 minutes of playing time.

ESPN’s Ramona Shelburne wrote during the game: “Porzingis is giving the Warriors everything they could’ve hoped for in this game. Very active, impactful game so far”

For Friday’s game, the Warriors have announced that Porzingis is being listed as questionable.

ESPN’s Anthony Slater wrote: “Kristaps Porzingis is questionable against the Suns tomorrow night with right ankle soreness. Was limping a bit postgame last night. No other surprises on Warriors injury report.”

Porzingis is in his first year playing for the Warriors after a trade (via the Atlanta Hawks) earlier this season.

He finished the regular season (with the Warriors) averaging 16.1 points, 5.3 rebounds, 2.3 assists and 1.1 blocks per contest while shooting 43.3% from the field and 31.1% from three-point range in 15 games.

Danny Emerman of The San Francisco Standard wrote (during Wednesday’s game): “Kristaps Porzingis with and and-1 and a 3-pointer. He’s played with great energy tonight. 20 points on 8-for-11. Warriors within three. WARRIORS chants at the Intuit Dome.”

Looking At Golden State And Phoenix

The Warriors are the tenth seed in the Western Conference after finishing the regular season with a 37-45 record.

With Wednesday’s win over LA, they are currently 16-26 in 42 games on the road away from the Chase Center.

Whoever wins on Friday will be the eighth seed (and face off against the OKC Thunder in the first round of the 2026 NBA playoffs).

Meanwhile, the Suns are coming off a loss to the Portland Trail Blazers (on Tuesday).

They went 45-37 during the regular season (which had them as the seventh seed).

At home, the Suns are 25-17 in 42 games.
