During the Philadelphia 76ers’ NBA Play-In battle against the Orlando Magic, Tyrese Maxey debuted his own pair of New Balance sneakers.

Although Maxey has donned different custom versions of New Balance styles, Wednesday’s choice was officially Maxey’s first signature shoe with the brand. The sneaker is Maxey v1.

“I wanted my shoe to have an iconic look that you don’t need to see the ‘N’ to know it’s a New Balance shoe,” Tyrese Maxey said in a statement, following the reveal.

“To me, the 9060 is a classic NB silhouette, so I pulled a lot of inspiration from that to bring lifestyle to the basketball court. I worked really closely with the New Balance product team to make sure the shoe looks good and feels good on and off the court. I’m really excited for people to test it out!”

The Sixers knocked off the Magic with a 109-97 win.

Maxey checked in for 42 minutes and scored 31 points. He also produced six assists, two rebounds, one steal, and one block. With that victory, the Sixers punched their ticket to the playoffs, where they’ll face the Boston Celtics.

After the game, Maxe took to Instagram to send another message regarding his new sneakers.

Philadelphia is back in the NBA Playoffs. After missing the Play-In Tournament during the 2024-2025 season, Maxey helped lead the way to finish with the seventh seed, and earn it officially for the playoff run.

Now, the biggest challenge yet is coming.

The Boston Celtics have an impressive history against the 76ers in the playoffs. Although Maxey has only been around for one of several recent postseason series between Philadelphia and Boston, his presence wasn’t a difference-maker the last time around.

The Celtics defeated the Sixers in seven games. Maxey’s team hasn’t seen the second round since.

The series will officially tip off on Sunday afternoon. Maxey and the Sixers will travel to Boston for a 1 PM ET tip.
