The Seattle Seahawks have a massive hole in their backfield after Kenneth Walker III bolted in free agency, but could have a great opportunity to replace the Super Bowl MVP.
The Seahawks have uncertainty with Walker’s departure and injury concerns for Zach Charbonnet. USA Today’s Jacob Camenker predicted the Seahawks would find another big addition in next week’s NFL draft, predicting they will invest a Day 2 pick on their backfield.

Camenker noted that the Seahawks don’t have any healthy running backs left from the top of the depth chart last season.
“Kenneth Walker parlayed his stellar season and Super Bowl 60 MVP into a three-year, $45 million contract with the Kansas City Chiefs,” Camenker wrote. “The Seahawks will need to find a way to replace him, especially with Zach Charbonnet recovering from a torn ACL he suffered during Seattle’s playoff win over the San Francisco 49ers.”
In a mock draft published on April 17, Camenker predicted the Seahawks would target Notre Dame running back Jadarian Price with their second-round pick. He noted that Price’s production and versatility could be a boon for Seattle’s offense.
“Price is a versatile running back who generated 761 scrimmage yards and 13 total touchdowns despite playing behind Jeremiyah Love, an All-American and a likely top-five selection in the 2026 NFL Draft,” Camenker wrote. “Price could emerge as a strong backfield leader in a larger role and also provides great value as an elusive kick returner.”
ESPN’s Mel Kiper Jr. agreed, noting that the Seahawks have only four draft picks this year and need to address their biggest roster holes.
“Seattle has to make every pick count, with four total selections (least in the league) and picking at the end of each round,” Kiper wrote.
Kiper added that while Price was behind teammate Jeremiyah Love on the depth chart for Notre Dame, he is still seen as a top NFL prospect.
“Price might not have been the RB1 at Notre Dame, but he can be one in the NFL. He’s powerful and fast, averaging 6.0 yards per carry over his career and scoring 11 touchdowns last season,” Kiper wrote.
