The Philadelphia Eagles may have added enough playmakers at wide receiver this offseason to avoid needing to make a splash at the position in the first round of the 2026 NFL Draft. But that doesn’t mean the Eagles aren’t doing their due diligence on elite pass-catchers such as Arizona State’s Jordyn Tyson.
The Sun Devils star wideout held a workout on campus Friday, where 20 NFL teams attended. NFL insider Jordan Schultz reported the Eagles were among the attendees.
If the Eagles want to target Tyson in the first round, though, they have a potential problem. The rest of the NFC East could be interested too.
Schultz listed the New York Giants, Washington Commanders and Dallas Cowboys as in attendance at the Friday workout as well.
NFL draft analysts universally consider Tyson a first-round pick. The workout from the wideout Friday confirmed that status.
ESPN’s Pete Thamel reported Friday that Tyson, “showed the twitch, explosiveness and leaping ability we all saw in the fall.”
Matt Miller, also of ESPN, called Tyson a “likely top 16 pick.” Miller reported the wideout ran 20-25 routes in his Friday workout and dropped just one pass.
ESPN’s Mel Kiper Jr. ranked Tyson as the No. 1 receiver and top 10 prospect in the 2026 NFL Draft class.
How Jordyn Tyson Could Fit With the Eagles

GettyArizona State wide receiver Jordyn Tyson could be an early first-round pick in the 2026 NFL Draft.
Part of why so many teams attended Tyson’s workout was because the receiver hadn’t previously run in front of NFL personnel this offseason.
At the 2026 NFL Scouting Combine, Tyson didn’t compete in the 40-yard dash. He also wasn’t on the field much for the Arizona State Pro Day. In both cases, he was still nursing a hamstring.
But Tyson became healthy enough to work out Friday, which will only help his draft stock.
The Eagles could be interested because of a pending hole at receiver an A.J. Brown trade may create.
Philadelphia drafting a first-round wideout could hurt the team in Brown trade negotiations, so it’s not what pundits expect the team to do. The Eagles have also added receivers Marquise “Hollywood” Brown, Dontayvion Wicks, and Elijah Moore this offseason.
But based on their attendance Friday, the Eagles may not have ruled out selecting Tyson. If he’s still on the board at No. 23 overall, perhaps he’s too great of a talent for general manager Howie Roseman to pass up.
NFC East Scramble for Right to Draft Tyson?

GettyThe Philadelphia Eagles attended Jordyn Tyson’s workout Friday along with the rest of the NFC East.
Given the amount of teams who showed interest in Tyson’s workout, it’s hard to imagine, though, the receiver lasting on the board until No. 23 overall.
Just in the NFC East alone, the Arizona State product has significant interest.
NFL Network’s Mike Garafolo suggested the Giants could orchestrate a draft trade for Tyson. While it was a trade back proposal, in the scenario, Tyson appeared to still be a top half of the first-round pick.
If the Giants can’t orchestrate a trade back, the Commanders and Cowboys could be in perfect position to draft Tyson. Washington holds the No. 7 selection while Dallas will pick twice in front of Philadelphia — No. 12 and 20 overall.
The Eagles hold the No. 23 overall pick. While Tyson is creating buzz with the first-round just days away, the team could address offensive line or defensive holes such as edge rusher or safety in the first round.
The 2026 NFL Draft will begin on Thursday, April 23 in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.
