The NBA offseason is here for the Milwaukee Bucks, so that calls for more Giannis Antetokounmpo trade noise, as the star forward can’t help but continue to turn heads with his comments.

Before a drama-filled season in 2025-2026, Antetokounmpo spent the 2025 offseason leaving bread crumbs for New York Knicks fans. This offseason, we can expect more for multiple fan bases. Goran Dragic recently helped Giannis spark some excitement for Miami Heat fans.

“Can I say something? You’re 31 years old, so you need to think about your knees, you know, to be loose. So you need warm climate, man,” the ex-Heat guard told Giannis on a new episode of his podcast.

Antetokounmpo couldn’t help himself.

“Hey, Miami’s not a bad place, man. Beautiful, beautiful city, beautiful city, the star forward said.

Similar to their other star pursuits, the Miami Heat were very clearly considering a trade for Antetokounmpo.

There was a notable market for Antetokounmpo, which included teams like the Golden State Warriors, New York Knicks, Minnesota Timberwolves, and the Brooklyn Nets.

Heading into a critical offseason, the Bucks know that they’ll have to listen to many offers this summer. After missing the playoffs, the Heat have to make some notable changes in order to get back on track. Pursuing Antetokounmpo again seems likely.

Skills-wise, Giannis was still as good as advertised in 2025-2026. Before he started experiencing frequent setbacks, Giannis was off to an MVP-caliber start.

Reality quickly set in, though. Antetokounmpo was hit with soft-tissue concerns early on, which lingered throughout the year. Plus, the Bucks simply didn’t have a strong enough supporting cast to help Giannis when he was on or off the court.

In 36 games, Antetokounmpo posted averages of 27.6 points, 9.8 rebounds, and 5.4 assists. The Bucks’ star shot 62.4% from the field and hit on 33.3% of his threes.

With some extended rest and potentially a breath of fresh air, Antetokounmpo should be able to bounce back in 2026-2027.
