Experience
Adam Fromal is a veteran sports writer and editor covering the NBA and NFL for Heavy.com, with a focus on the Boston Celtics, Miami Heat, Pittsburgh Steelers and Cleveland Browns.
He has built up a wealth of sports writing knowledge during a career that began in 2010 with a satire blog that primarily featured writing about LeBron James and Brett Favre.
Adam enjoys covering all facets of the sports industry but has a particular love for basketball and the NBA, which he made into a career when he covered the Association for almost a decade as a writer for Bleacher Report. During that time, he covered Denver Nuggets games and ran his own analytics website called NBA Math (a venture he continues today). He also hosted his own podcast centered around the sport called Hardwood Knocks.
Adam has also used his love of numbers and sports to turn the NBA Math venture into the larger Sports Math Network, where he's developed numerous metrics across sports to help contextualize historical information. That includes a look at the top 100 MLB hitters of all time, an all-time quarterback ranking and plenty more.
Throughout his tenure as an editor, Adam has a few other claims to fame: He provided quality control for the Emmy-nominated “Game of Zones” web series at Bleacher Report and worked as a fact-checker for The Ringer’s Mirin Fader on her New York Times-bestselling debut book, Giannis: The Improbable Rise of an NBA MVP. He has also fact-checked and copy-edited Fader's follow-up book about Hakeem Olajuwon, set for a fall 2024 publication, and is working with other authors on more sports-related books.
