Dave Holcomb is a sports writer and journalist, covering the NFL for Heavy.com since February 2022.

After opening his tenure with the Seattle Seahawks and Indianapolis Colts, he began covering the Pittsburgh Steelers in December 2022. Dave has covered the Steelers on a daily basis since then.

The following year, Dave rejoined the Seahawks team and started covering the Detroit Lions too.

In 2024, Dave expanded his Heavy role with the Philadelphia Eagles and Miami Dolphins. Also in 2024, he began covering the MLB.

During 2025, writing about the Green Bay Packers and Washington Commanders became part of his job as well.

This year, Heavy added Dave to its Dallas Cowboys, Minnesota Vikings, New England Patriots, Cleveland Browns and Los Angeles Rams coverage.

Dating back to his internship at Football Nation, Dave has 15 years of NFL writing experience. His NFL work has been featured at On SI, Athlon Sports, Pro Football Network, Yardbarker and FanRag Sports.

Dave has also covered the Atlanta Braves for Braves on SI, the NHL for The Hockey Writers, the Pittsburgh Penguins for FanRag Sports, fantasy sports at The Sports Network and Rotowire, and baseball for Rant Sports and FanRag.

Early in his career, Dave covered New Jersey High School Sports at The Star-Ledger/NJ.com from 2013-14.

Dave is also a self-published author. He has published three books analyzing the James Bond and Terminator film franchises. Dave also released a WWII novel in 2021.

Education

Dave Holcomb earned a bachelor's degree in broadcast journalism from Syracuse University in 2013. Dave dual majored at Syracuse, also earning a degree in English Textual Studies.
