Criswell (2-1) picked up the win in Tuesday's 4-0 victory over the Giants, scattering two hits and a walk over five scoreless innings while striking out four. The right-hander faced only one batter over the minimum thanks to two double plays, exiting after 79 pitches (46 strikes). Criswell has tossed 10 straight shutout innings since moving into the rotation, and while his 1.65 ERA and 0.98 WHIP aren't sustainable, the 27-year-old may be emerging as a solid starting option. He lines up to make his next start on the road this weekend in Minnesota.
Abreu went 3-for-4 with a walk, double, triple, an RBI and a run scored in Tuesday's 4-0 win over San Francisco. Abreu is swinging a productive bat; this was his fifth multi-hit game over the last 10 contests, during which he's 18-for-41 with nine extra-base hits, 10 RBI and eight runs scored. Much of that production has come as the cleanup batter, a spot that had been filled by Triston Casas prior to the oblique injury that landed him on the 60-day injured list.
Duran went 3-for-4 with a walk, a stolen base, an RBI and a run scored in Tuesday's 4-0 win over the Giants. Duran led of the fourth inning with a single and stole his ninth base of the season before trotting home on Wilyer Abreu's triple. Duran has scuffled of late and entered the game batting .150 (6-for-40) over the previous nine contests. His nine thefts lead the Red Sox and are tied for sixth in MLB.
Dalbec entered Tuesday's game in the bottom of the fifth inning after Garrett Cooper was hit by a pitch on the wrist. Dalbec stole a base and was hit by a pitch in his lone plate appearance. The early word on Cooper's injury is a contusion, and it's unclear how much time he'll need. The development puts Dalbec back on the fantasy radar; he had been the primary first baseman prior to Boston acquiring Cooper last week.
The Red Sox acquired Horn from the White Sox on Tuesday in exchange for cash, Chris Cotillo of The Springfield Republican reports. Horn will recapture a 40-man roster spot as he moves from Chicago to Boston, though he will remain in the minors at Triple-A Worcester. The 26-year-old southpaw has yet to pitch in an MLB game, and his debut doesn't seem on the horizon after allowing 13 runs in 10.1 innings to begin the year with Chicago's Triple-A affiliate.
Grissom (hamstring/illness) won't be activated from the injured list Tuesday, Christopher Smith of The Springfield Republican reports. Grissom was expected to make his MLB debut Tuesday after battling a right hamstring injury throughout the early portion of the season. However, it's an illness keeping him from being activated from the 10-day IL, meaning that the second baseman should be considered essentially day-to-day moving forward.
Yoshida (hand) will undergo an MRI on Wednesday, Mac Cerullo of the Boston Herald reports. Yoshida jammed his left hand during Sunday's 5-4 win over the Cubs and was not listed in the Red Sox lineup Tuesday. While he's technically active for the contest, he's unlikely to play. Fantasy managers should have a better idea about the severity of the injury after the results of Wednesday's MRI come back. In the meantime, Tyler O'Neill should handle DH duties.
