Drives in two runs vs. Miami

Ewing went 2-for-4 with a two-run single, a steal and a run scored during the Mets' 9-7 extra-inning win over the Marlins on Friday. Ewing gave the Mets an early 2-0 lead after his single to center field brought both Bo Bichette and Juan Soto home, and Ewing collected a steal and came home to score in the same frame. It was his fourth multi-hit game of the season. Since making his major-league debut May 13 against the Tigers, Ewing is slashing .268/.359/.357 with four steals, one home run and six RBI over 66 plate appearances.

Out of lineup against lefty

Ewing is not in the lineup for Tuesday's game against the Nationals. Ewing started each of the first seven games upon his promotion, but the left-handed batter will get a day off Tuesday as the Nationals send southpaw Foster Griffin to the bump. Tyrone Taylor is covering center field for the Mets.

On base four times in win

Ewing went 1-for-1 with three walks, a run scored and a stolen base in Sunday's win over the Yankees. While the rookie was hitting eighth in the order, Ewing displayed his top-of-the-order skills in just his sixth MLB game. Through his first 25 plate appearances with the Mets, the 21-year-old is batting .294 (5-for-17) with a triple, a homer, two steals in three attempts, three RBI and five runs, and he has more walks (seven) than strikeouts (five).
