The Mets released Arroyo on Monday. Arroyo might have exercised an opt-out clause in his minor-league contract, as he's hit .304/.333/.446 with five home runs at Triple-A Syracuse this season. The 31-year-old infielder has not seen any action at the big-league level since 2023.
The Mets signed Arroyo to a minor-league contract Monday that includes an invitation to spring training, Mike Puma of the New York Post reports. Arroyo slashed .314/.384/.485 with five home runs over 45 contests at Triple-A Lehigh Valley in the Phillies organization in 2025. The 30-year-old infielder is a career .252/.299/.394 hitter across parts of seven major-league seasons and last saw action at the big-league level in 2023.
The Phillies signed Arroyo to a minor-league contract Friday that includes an invitation to spring training, Todd Zolecki of MLB.com reports. Arroyo's 2024 campaign was spent at Triple-A Nashville in the Brewers organization, where he put up a .627 OPS with two homers in 30 contests. He'll compete for a reserve role but is almost surely headed to Triple-A Lehigh Valley to begin the season.
