The Giants selected Haase from Triple-A Sacramento on Tuesday, Shayna Rubin of the San Francisco Chronicle reports. Haase's selection comes as a corresponding move to Daniel Susac (elbow) being placed on the 10-day injured list along with Jose Butto (arm) being transferred to the 60-day injured list. Haase has slashed .250/.300/.472 across 40 plate appearances in 9 games for Triple-A Sacramento to begin 2026. He'll serve as the back-up catcher to Patrick Bailey with Susac down.

Eric Haase: Breaking News
Returns to Giants
Haase signed a minor-league contract with the Giants on Wednesday. Haase parted ways with the Giants after posting a .911 OPS over 18 games in the Cactus League, but he'll now return to the organization and provide depth at Triple-A Sacramento. He'd likely be called up to work as a backup in San Francisco if Patrick Bailey or Daniel Susac had to miss time.
Parts ways with Giants
The Giants released Haase on Wednesday, Justice delos Santos of The San Jose Mercury News reports. The 33-year-old was in camp as a non-roster invitee and hit well during spring training with a .911 OPS in 18 games, but the Giants will begin the year with Daniel Susac as the backup catcher to starter Patrick Bailey. Haase spent the past two seasons in Milwaukee and posted a .229/.289/.357 slash line across 77 plate appearances during the regular season last year.
