Jacob Eder: Breaking News

The Dodgers optioned Eder to Triple-A Oklahoma City on Wednesday. He's clearing out to make room on the roster and in the bullpen for the return of Brock Stewart (shoulder) from the injured list. Eder has yielded one run with a 1:1 K:BB over four innings during his time with the Dodgers this season.

The Dodgers recalled Eder from Triple-A Oklahoma City on Monday. The move corresponds with the Dodgers placing closer Edwin Diaz (elbow) on the 15-day injured list. Eder was acquired by Los Angeles from Washington on April 1, and across three outings in Triple-A, he has allowed two earned runs on six hits and two walks while striking out three across 5.2 innings. He figures to serve in a low-leverage role out of the Dodgers' bullpen.

The Dodgers acquired Eder from the Nationals on Wednesday in exchange for cash considerations, Spencer Nusbaum of The Athletic reports. Eder had been designated for assignment by the Nationals and is now headed to a new organization. The left-hander has minor-league options remaining and is likely to be assigned to Triple-A Oklahoma City. Eder has made nine relief appearances at the big-league level, allowing 11 runs with a 16:10 K:BB over 20.1 innings.
