Jorge Soler: Breaking News

Soler will start at designated hitter and bat cleanup in Sunday's game against the Padres. After completing his four-game suspension Saturday, Soler will slot back into his typical spot in the heart of the Angels lineup for the series finale. Jo Adell will move down to the No. 6 spot in the order after occupying the cleanup spot during three of the four games that Soler was out.

Soler's suspension has been reduced to four games, and he will begin serving the ban during Wednesday's game against the Yankees, Rhett Bollinger of MLB.com reports. Soler had initially received a seven-game ban for his involvement in a brawl during the Angels' 7-2 loss to Atlanta on April 7. After getting the suspension reduced, Soler will be eligible to return for Sunday's series finale against the Padres. The Angels will likely mix and match at designated hitter over the next four games while Soler is unavailable.

Soler went 1-for-3 with a solo home run, two walks and two runs scored in Tuesday's 7-1 win over the Yankees. After Mike Trout and Jo Adell both went deep off Ryan Weathers in the top of the first inning, Soler hit a solo shot of his own to make it back-to-back-to-back homers for the Angels. It was Soler's fifth long ball of the young season and his fourth in the last seven games. In that span, Soler owns a 1.185 OPS with 10 RBI, seven runs scored and a 4:7 BB:K across 31 trips to the plate.
