The Athletics reassigned Krook to minor-league camp Sunday. Krook was one of 11 players sent out in the Athletics' latest round of roster cuts. The 31-year-old left-hander spent most of the 2025 season at the Triple-A level but made three appearances in the majors with the Athletics, giving up two earned runs on five hits and one walk over 3.1 innings.
Krook agreed to a minor-league contract with the Athletics on Saturday. Krook elected free agency earlier in the month after being sent outright to Cleveland's Triple-A affiliate, and he's since decided to return to the A's. He made three appearances for the Athletics during the 2025 season, surrendering two runs on five hits and one walk while striking out three over 3.1 innings.
The Guardians outrighted Krook to Triple-A Columbus, and he elected free agency Thursday, Tim Stebbins of MLB.com reports. Krook's only big-league appearances came with the A's, but he spent the final four months of the season in the Guardians' organization. He'll likely find a minor-league deal around the league this winter.
