The Dodgers placed Kopech on the 15-day injured list Friday with right knee inflammation. Renewed inflammation in Kopech's knee will force him back onto the injured list, putting an early end to what was an injury-filled 2025 campaign. Manager Dave Roberts said Friday that the Dodgers will aim to "reset" the 29-year-old while he's on the IL, per Jack Harris of the Los Angeles Times, and the team is optimistic that he'll return sometime during the postseason. In the meantime, Will Klein will come up from Triple-A Oklahoma City to fill the open spot in Los Angeles' bullpen.

Michael Kopech: Breaking News
IL stint likely
Kopech is tending to uncertain physical issues which are expected to require a stint on the injured list, Bill Plunkett of The Orange County Register reports. Kopech didn't say what was bothering him specifically, but he's expected to need some time off to recover. The 29-year-old has endured some control issues recently, having walked eight batters in his last four appearances spanning 2.2 innings. Will Klein is expected to be added to the active roster as the corresponding move.
Back from 60-day IL
The Dodgers activated Kopech (knee) from the 60-day injured list Monday. Kopech had surgery July 1 to repair a torn meniscus in his right knee, but he's ready to join the big-league bullpen after making seven rehab appearances with Triple-A Oklahoma City. The righty held an 11.81 ERA and 5:9 K:BB over 5.1 innings in those outings, so the Dodgers are likely to ease Kopech into high-leverage spots.
